Many of you, I'm sure, have heard of FaceBook (sort of the grown-up version of MySpace), and likely many of you are already members. If you aren't, I encourage you to check it out. There are quite a number of us Civil War/Gettysburg/History nuts on there, and FaceBook is a terrific way to keep in touch. Plus, there are many groups on it that you can join - thousands of them that run the gamut of history and virtually every other topic.
You'll find many recognizable names who are members, such as authors, historians, reenactors, buffs, etc. We all have a great time conversing every day. Most of the CW magazines have their own pages on FaceBook, as well as reenactor groups, preservation groups, and all manner of historical groups. It's a terrific way to network.
Check it out, and if you join just do a search for my name. Send me a request to become a "friend" (it's easy to do) and that way we're able to converse and you'll see posts and activity of a large group. You can build your own profile and post comments, links, etc. It's a lot of fun, very easy to use, and as I said it's a terrific way to keep in touch with many folks. You'll be able to chat with your favorite authors, magazine editors, and many new friends who share your interests.

I use Facebook as a way of further communicating with my Civil War wargaming friends as part of the global Johnny Reb Gaming Society, which has moved beyond hard copy magazines and blogging into Facebook repositories of photographs of some of our games.
