"The Complete Gettysburg Guide" now available as an e-book

The Complete Gettysburg Guide is now available as an e-book for Amazon Kindle. Co-author Steven Stanley has been working very hard the past few months with our publisher, Savas Beatie LLC and our distributor, Casemate to make the e-book just right. Since the book is in full color with Steve's wonderful maps and graphics, the e-book needed a great deal more design work than a simple black-and-white book. We had to make sure that the layout was correct and user-friendly, and Steve and crew did an amazing job. So if you've been waiting to be able to have The Guide on your reading device, please check out the Amazon page.

UPDATE: Many have asked me when the book will be available on the Barnes&Noble Nook - I am told that the formatting will be done no later than the week of July 25, so it should be available very soon!

  1. If I download the book to my Kindle software on an iPad, is it still in B&W?

  2. Scott - I'm not entirely sure since I don't have an iPad yet... but the digital format is full color. If the iPad is in color, I would assume that the image would be as well.

  3. JD, I downloaded a sample on my iPad. It is indeed full color, so I bought a full digital copy. It is fairly slick on the iPad. I can easily zoom in on the maps and move them around.

This has been a great book. I take a hard copy with me every time I go to Gettysburg and I do go often (5 times this year already!) Now I will just bring my iPad.

  4. Awesome, it worked! Cool, I'm glad and I figured it would. We have to give kudos to Steve Stanley - he worked extremely hard on the digital layout to make sure everthing was user-friendly and laid out correctly. I know he'll be happy to hear that it's all good.

  5. Hi JD and Steve

You have done it again. I have down loaded the Guide to my Kindle. It flows just as well as the book. It sure is lighter. Great to have the guide with me all the time

    Best wishes

  6. I did a quick video review for those without iPads to see how slick it is.
